ABOUT ME
Caring. Professional. Non-judgemental. Confidential.
I trained as a counsellor for several years. Throughout this time I became increasingly convinced about the benefits of talking therapy. As a result I strongly believe in the potential for growth and change, that counselling can bring.
I have a breadth and depth of experience from diverse settings. As well as my private practice, I provide counselling to a charity which supports adult clients who have experienced physical and emotional trauma.
Further (previous) experience includes work for an Oxford-based charity providing counselling to survivors of sexual abuse.
Before training to become a counsellor, I worked in the corporate world for 20 years.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by its code of ethics, (Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions). Registered BACP member number: 399013
I undertake monthly supervision, in which my work with clients is overseen. Additionally I keep up to date with developments in the counselling world and undertake ongoing training (continued professional development), to ensure my practice remains professional, ethical and relevant.
I offer both short-term and long-term therapy, depending on your needs, and I work with individuals aged 18 and over. I offer face-to-face sessions (RG20 7BE) and also work online.
I am fully insured, hold an enhanced DBS certificate and comply with data protection laws.
My therapy office is in a rural setting and separate from my house, with off-street parking. It is easily accessible by wheelchair.
